Digital Self-Publishing for the Newbie with ebook formatting!

In one quick week, learn the basics of self-publishing. From terminology like DRM and Keywords to the ins and outs of Smashwords, Pubit and Amazon’s KDP and how to format an ebook.

Discover your options as far as formatting—should you hire someone to format your ebook, or can you do it for yourself? If you do hire someone, what should you expect?

Only have a print copy of your book? What are your options, aside from re-typing the entire thing, for getting a digital version? How do you take that and turn it into a readable ebook format? How about ISBNs? Do you need one? If so where can you go to get one? And what about marketing? What is metadata and what about tags? Where can and should you sell your book and at what price?

Week two…or maybe a bit before the second week…learn how to format your ebook file for Smashwords, using Word, then convert the file into an epub (that validates) for Barnes & Noble Nook and a MOBI or PRC file for Amazon Kindle.

Also touched on: options for print versions of your book, plus any questions class members may have.

Two week class consists online lessons, webinar walk through of Smashwords, Kindle and Pubit behind the scenes, webinars showing how to format an ebook via Word/Calibre/Sigil/MobiPocket and a very open discussion of all things epublishing via a Yahoo email loop.
